We all love this song, but wish they could make a family friendly version, then it could be sung by the younger members of the family too, and perhaps played in the restaurants around Calis to make it really famous. It would be easy to do, just change the swear word to "Feck"

Thanks Bewva

Great fun song but I don't really want my grandkids singing 'Feck' either thanks .. :o

Well lets say "Heck "just as long as we could get the song out and spread the word about Calis and get this song on everyone's lips out in the Fethiye area... It could become one of those songs that everyone sings when on holiday. At present it's quite limited to adults and even on Youtube it has a warning of strong language.

I thought the song could be changed, but even if it was you would still get people singing this version in the bars.
W?hen the original is played in pubs/club etc there is still the mighty roar of the 'F' word above the clean version.
it will never change.

Absolutely F**king brilliant lol

Oh Lordy....this is back :)
I fully take on board Jacqui's point about the swear word. We debated long and hard as to whether we should keep it, change it or bleep it. In the end we decided to keep it close to the original song that was being parodied. However, we never imagined that it would become so widely viewed, least of all actually played and performed in Calis!
So, I am with Geoff (the the musician of the piece) in the studio today. We can do a remix version and can either bleep the offending word, change it to 'where the heck is Calis' or even 'where on Earth is Calis'.
Any suggestions are welcome. We will then make a downloadable version of the 'clean 'track available.
We both fly out to Calis, for an extended stay, on Tuesday afternoon so time is of the essence.
Thanks, once again, for all the nice comments.

I vote for "Heck" fits better. I think once you make the changes this song will take off through Calis Beach and be a holiday hit.
We sing it all the time now. I'ts like a catch phrase in our house, as soon as someone mentions Calis, some one else says "Where the feck is Calis"
Good luck.

I think its brill but I agree about the 'f' word it grated on me but then so did the original. Either of your suggestions would work for a more pc version- but it is good well done ! I've shared it!
-
We think its a brill song too. Change the word to anything else then we can download it for the 4 day car journey ahead!!!

The local entertainers have been singing for weeks now, a few people in the audience always just up and shout where the F is calis. I loved the orgional version and thought it was a shame Chubby Brown sang it. We removed the song from all our karaoke books even the proper version, whatever word they put in people will still swear after a few beers, I notice a few like to jump up and see who can shout it loudest. A good song ruined in my opinion.

" A good song ruined in my opinion."
Definitely your opinion as IMO it's the cheesiest song ever.
Makes me smile though :)

A 'family friendly' version of the track is now also available for download:

The offending word has been replaced in the family friendly version by 'heck'.

on the same theme, I had the hilarious pleasure of hearing Smokie sing the naughty version of 'Alice' in Ireland, so very funny, but I wouldn't want my grandchildren to hear it!!

It's not so much the swearing for me it's the fact that Calis is mispronounced. It's Cha-lish (phonetic spelling) not Cha-lice.
I can't believe no one else has mentioned it before.

Maybe because the original song wasn't about Alish ? (poetic licence ;D )

Might have been better to do a cover of A Town Called Malice.

Does anybody still have a link for this song please.
