Title: Hotel recommendations.
Post by: sadler on November 12, 2017, 18:17:27 PM
We are staying with friends yet again in their apartment in a small fishing village outside Bodrum next summer. We are planning a trip by car to Fethiye/Calis for 3 or 4 nights. We want to show them the delights of the area. Previously we owned an apartment in Calis but are thinking that a stay in Fethiye would give us the best base to travel to as many of the delights as we can comfortably fit in within the area. Looking for recommendations for an Hotel in the vicinity with 2 double rooms. Price, although a consideration, is not the issue. As we will be “treating” our friends, we want something extra special, whether it be luxury or something totally different, not too bothered. That said, they are very staid in their ways and would choose steak over a Turkish meal. Any suggestions? Have looked up the Yacht Botique etc. But looking for other suggestions. Many thanks   :)

The Yacht Boutique is lovely and there are several similar that have arrived in more recent times.

For me, nowhere quite had the class of the Ece Saray which is wonderful.

It would also be suitable for those who prefer steak to kebap  :)

There's the Unique Hotel - owned by the same family as Yacht Classic.

That's nice, good views, slightly closer to town, with a small indoor and terrace restaurant and its the winner of awards.

I've been there for their village breakfast a few times and the menu looks good.

Is that a recommendation, Scotcher, if so, where is it please?   :)

Yes Sadler it is a recommendation and I thought I had posted recently singing its praises but it was either removed or a finger problem by me more likely! You take the sharp left almost back on yourself before the "Yacht" hotels and go uphill to the top road. Street parking either side of hotel if required.

They're all on the edge of or on the way to Karagözler.

Only a short walk into Fethiye, although I wouldn't fancy the walk back up to Casa Margot though.

Sorry, but I wouldn't want to walk up "Cardiac Hill" no matter how good the  hotel   ;)

Just my personal preference but I would choose.. Yacht Classic or Ece Saray just be sure to select a bath or shower room at Ece Saray as different floors give different options. E.S was the best breakfast I have had in Fethiye..
