My mother-in-Law tells me that soup (in particular tahana soup) encourages milk production in breast feeding women!!! There really is a soup for everything here.

There is a serious side to this......I had a persistent cough and I was recommended to go to one of the spice shops in the old market and he gave me a mix of Cinnamon Ginger Cloves Ginseng root and linden flowers from which you make an infusion. Drunk in Turkish Tea glasses with a spoonful of honey as many as you want.......Cough went in a couple of days. Can't prove it was the herbal mix but the cough did go.[?] :)

Mummy says to little Mehmet 'Come on, eat your soup; it will make you feel better!' to which he replies 'What a load of tripe!'

I was given a remedy for an upset tummy ie tummy pains and/or Diahroea and it works
Take a teaspoon of Turkish coffee and pop it in the mouth, then add half a teaspoon of sugar in the mouth, Now swallow. I know it sounds daft but it worked on me. :)

Okay, for all you poorly people in Calis, I would recommend Jimmys soup kitchen or the Sechkin in Gunlukbasi for their soup!  You'll all be fighting fit soon!

Would anyone know of some herbs or a herbal or natural product for the menopause please in Turkey, and also for anxiety (which I believe is linked to my menopausal probs!) I really wanted to ask someone last week when we were in Calis but because of the language barrier I could not pluck up the courage. I am desperate to try something as I am having to come off my prescribed medication cos of high blood pressure.
I would be really really grateful for any suggestions.
