On Thursday of last week I was enjoying a coffee outside VoJo's while my daughter was taking advantage of their "Ladies Day Treatments". The afternoon was spoiled by the most obnoxious man I have ever listened to. Ashamed to say he was British and was regaling a Turkish man of his great knowledge of everying imaginable.( mostly rubbish) He was incensed that someone had the audacity to ask him if he would care to buy a raffle ticket in aid of the charity (Zantara) that were working there that day. And I mean Incensed .He ranted on and on and on about how the bloody British are spoiling it for everyone with their endless charities for either children or animals and he could see no reason for any of it . !!!!! I was at the next table and he was put under no pressure whatsoever so his ranting was totally unnecessary except he obviously loved the sound of his own voice . he informed Jo that she was going to lose all of her customers and also later said she had no idea how to run a business as the tables were set up for dinner far too early. If he could find something to complain about he certainly did.Wish I knew his name and hope I meet him again as he gave me a headache .Don't think you would ever see him with English people though as doubt anyone would put up with him. Does this sound like anyone you know ........ Phew ..got that off my ample chest .

That sounds like around 20 people I know!
-
Hope I dont meet hım on my travels he wıll get an earful from me. How rude.

He didn't happen to have a dog with him? The reason I ask is that around 10 days ago, my friend was walking her dog on a lead along the prom, as she was passing Vo-Jos, another dog came hurtling out of there & attacked her dog. The only way my friend could stop this was to kick the other dog, albeit not particularly hard. The other dog's owner appeared & my friend was subjected to what can only be described as a vile torrent of abuse that could be heard as far away as the Nil.
Fortunately, neither my friend nor her dog were physically hurt, but even a couple of hours afterwards, when she was relating the story, my friend was shaking & her dog is now very "skittish" when on her lead if any other dogs are around.
Just wondering if this idiot is a Vo-Jos regular, if so I can't see that he will enhance their long term trade.

I think I could narrow it down to one of two people.
-
No one like that in Uzumlu!!!!!! :) ;) ;)

Nah, Gordon wasn't in Calis that day ;-) and never would be rude of a charity especially one for children/animals (does that fall under one category?).
Did the man have a black and white dog (or 2).
-
That would be one of my guesses too Loz.
-
As I've always said - one of the scourges of Calis is the number of people who contribute nothing and spend their days criticising the good that others do.
They are experts on everything, yet their opinions are actually worth nothing.
Keep up the good work Mavis, you are worth 1000 of these wasters.

It wasn't me Baz so it must be the other bloke
-
think you hit the nail on the head there Loz :)
-
Well, if it wasn't Rimms, & it wasn't me, it must have been Mr. Nobody, again. ??? : :)
-
How is it that there are two suspects and I'm neither of them?
-
EerRRRRRRR!!!! let me have a guess at that one. You're not in Calis at the moment ;D
-
My evil is omniavailable
-
I think the person only has one dog now

& so say all of us, couldn't put it any better than that.
-
I think I know who he is.
-
Will be on the look out for him again but will have camera handy....... Thank you Keith and Mark for lovely comments.

I think your friend needs to learn how to tell the truth properly. The dog that 'hurled' out of VOJOs and 'attacked' her dog AND WAS THEN KICKED BY HER, YES KICKED THREE TIMES BY HER, was my little pug Bella, a more friendly and non-aggressive dog you couldn't find !
She tells the truth about verbal abuse, but I think you go a bit far to say it was vile - I called her a cruel bitch actually, and she should think herself lucky she got away with verbal abuse as there are many people who witnessed the event and would quite happily have kicked her.
Oh, and I do object to being called an idiot before you have all the facts at hand. I admit that Bella should be kept on a lead along Calis beach front, and in future she will be, but do not go mouthing off on here about me being an idiot when you don't even know me and you are prepared to listen unquestioningly to a person who self-admittedly kicked a dog !

Is this two different incidents we are talking about with your dog getting kicked?
This one was a few weeks ago, I thought you said your dog got kicked this weekend?
-
...and by a man... ???
-
As dog kicking seems to be the hot topic on CBF could we possibly have a kick the dog owner thread for all of those who cannot contol their dogs and as a result need a good licking themselves? >:( >:(

When I was at VOJO's (a while back) sat with a friend, a couple with 2 border collies came in. There dogs off the lead in the premises, and straight over to our table. One of the dogs wanted something throwing so I bent down to pick up the stone or whatever it was and the dog nipped my hand. The woman owner looked over and I asked if the dog was up to date on it's inoculations, she asked why and I told her that it had just nipped me, she called the dog over, put it on the lead muttered something to the guy with her and that was that!! Good job my son hadn't been there, as he would have probably been the one to get bitten.
With regards to dogs off leads, they shouldn't be. It's bad enough walking down the front with the street dogs around especially when you have a dog like mine that doesn't like being approached by other dogs.
