Well, you can all shout at me! Stuff and nonsense, in 1950's Europe a blue fug hung in the air in every Cinema, Theatre, Pub etc. So, if you don't show it like it is then yes it detracts from the historical accuracy and drama. I see nothing wrong in it and as en ex-smoker it certainly doesn't make me want to take it up again, more it makes me wonder why I smoked, especially with poor lungs to begin with! I am now as anti smoking as the next person, but I see nothing wrong in the illustration in Quirke, which I thoroughly enjoyed by the way!
