As a result of overuse of cleaning chemicals etc by the hotels and restaurants life in the blue lagoon is at risk.
This is a petition started by Gunsenin Gunel who owns the Oyster Residences in Ölüdeniz calling for the authorities to allow only the use of environmentally friendly products by the local hoteliers etc.
Motorised boats are now no longer allowed in the lagoon so there is already some awareness of the risks to the wildlife and natural habitats; this petition takes it one step further, please sign the petition here...

The petition asks for all cleaning in the locality to be done with environmentally friendly products. If you have signed a change.org petition before all you have to do is click where it says "imzası" All your details will have been saved.
If not, on the right where you sign it will ask for your name "isim" and then your address "adres" with a drop down box for country and an option to add comments. The just click where it says "imzası" I am doing this from memory because this page doesn't show again once you have signed so I hope its correct but I think you will get the gist.

Done Nichola, this is awful, hope everyone gives their backing and signs

Signed. Look what happened at Pamukkale when they opened too many hotels and allowed people to bathe in the pools.
We were lucky enough to have visited when it did look like cotton wool. Haven't been for many years but believe it is regaining some of its whiteness.
-
Stoop you can try the link from my FB wall - Marggie I have recently posted some photos of a trip to Pamukkale on FB if you want to see what it looks like now.
PS. I wish as many people that have viewed this topic had signed the petition. We would have doubled the numbers by now. I understand that not everyone wants to sign every petition that comes their way but I am curious as why most people who have viewed this topic haven't signed.

Thanks for sharing Nichola - it looks spectacular.
-
I signed it from seeing it on the FT website last night.
I have no problem signing such petitions but you start to get random emails asking you to sign all sorts
-
That is very true but also very easy to unsubscribe as soon as you get the first random email. I know from experience how annoying repeated updates on the progress of any given petition can be never mind more emails asking you to sign others you may have no interest in.
I always unsubscribe now; that option will be at the bottom of the email you receive.
-
Thanks, Nichola. Signed it and hope the petition has some impact.

Done. If you go all the way to the bottom of the page there is a drop down box where you can select English. Then the whole page is in English.
-
all done :) It looks a bit worrying at first look as it is in Turkish.....Go right down to the bottom to change the language!

All done. I'll get Jan and the family to do likewise. ;)
