Attempting to Explain: Event v Advert on CBF
« on: April 27, 2012, 00:21:52 AM »
I understand that CBF isn't easy to turn up at and post if you are a hotel/restaurant/bar etc. and even more so if English isn't your first language. So in an attempt to explain what is acceptable and what isn't:

Acceptable:

Bar/restaurant/hotel owners and the like are most welcome to post on CBF about any special night/event they will be having. This can be a charity event, a singer, a one-off theme night, BBQ, a quiz, a special set menu night, anything in fact that is a little bit more special than a 'normal' night at their place. Owners can do this and in fact anyone can - staff, regulars, friends, no problem - if someone is making an effort, feel free to share it.

Not Acceptable:

Signing up and copying your entire menu in your first post

"We are **** Bar, come see us" topics

New topics that are quite obviously owners/staff pretending to be happy customers (these are rarely impressive  ;) )

Please remember that CBF is here to promote what the area has to offer and that goes for local events too. Please do not worry about sharing special event news here, it's just what we want - but free advertising with nothing special to report is not  :)
