Pantomime 2010
« on: January 14, 2010, 17:32:44 PM »
Calis Carnival Committee are pleased to announce, albeit very early, that we shall be staging a pantomime in December 2010. It won't exactly be on a small scale, but if you enjoy a night of pure fun and frivolity, these nights will be for you.
The pantomime will be on Friday and Saturday, 10th and 11th of December. Venue to be confirmed but we hope for the Culture Centre in Fethiye.
The writing is already in process. If you would like to be involved, in whatever capacity, please let me know asap!
I know December is a long way off but, believe me, from experience, a show doesn't just happen!! It needs a great deal of planning!
Early warning for Scunner and Tinkerman ..... can't think of anybody else who would be best suited as the ugly sisters!!!! Calis Secretary Chrissie and co-Secretary Jo have already agreed to be both ends of the donkey!! Triplet Piglet could play the bad man - no acting lessons required? Hmmm!! Big stage required!!! Ian wants to play ''poof-in-boots'' and obviously, I will play the charming Prince (???!!??)
Bring it on Calis!
If you want to be involved please let me know!

As two people who have done a lot for charities local to Fethiye, I do feel Tinkerman and myself don't often get the respect we deserve

Why not have it at the TAPU Office. They've got loads of experience of putting on pantomimes !

I suggest Charlie from The Nil. He loves dressing up as a woman.  I am sure he would be great. After this he is going to kill me though... I think that most Turkish are getting used to us Brits dressing up by now. (Boxing day splash). How we explain that girls are boys and boys are girls. I am leaving that up to Nigel !!! It is a brilliant idea. I am sure it will be a great success. Can't understand why no one else ever thought of it!!

Should be fun when Nigel comes on stage and the audience shout " he's behind you"  :-\
