Bit of a shocker, Prince Philip in a driving accident,
aged 97, lucky not injured after vehicle overturned . ;)
-
I agree it is a bit of a shock, but a bigger issue is that the council has now stated that the road will now have a 50MPH speed limit and average speed cameras will be installed. The locals have been trying to get this implemented for years, it surprising how they can find the money now.
-
Also surprising how very little has been said about the people in the other car. Said on the news this morning that there were two women, one of them suffering a broken arm, and a young baby who thankfully was unharmed!
-
It's all about him.

Maybe they don't want hundreds of reporters banging on their door.
-
How long before the conspiracy theorists are inviting us to believe that it was a "planned" accident staged as retaliation by those still loyal to Diana. ;) ;) ;)
-
They've already theorised that he's really dead and that news is being held back to be released when they need to divert the public from some more Brexit moves.

Duke of hazard?

Duke of hazard?
ROFLMAO. ;D
-
If the accident was caused by a 'common person', there would be a public outcry on why a 97-year-old still held their driving license.
Just sayin.
-
There would be a public outcry from those that do not know the law of the land. :(

ROFLMAO.
I don't think he needs the blindfold.

it will never happen but if I reach Prince Philips age I will extremely pleased that I am considered to drive legally.
PS the present Mrs H doesn't think I should be driving now. ;)

Good to see a lot of Sympathy for the Duke😅😅😅😅

Very difficult to have sympathy when yesterday he was photographed driving his new car on the public highway without a seatbelt!
-
The man is a national embarrassment. His ill considered remarks have been racist, misogynistic, and downright nasty.
The anti ‘politically correct’ commentators need reminding that PC just means good manners; asking a Scottish driving instructor if he was allowed to teach when he was drunk (stereotyping Scots as alcoholics), or asking black people if they still ate people is not funny, it’s downright rude.
The man drives his (free) Range Rover around Norfolk with no seat belt and could well have killed a baby.
His biggest achievement seems to be not dying young.
-
Shame that Lindsey - he speaks well of you...
-
Not a fan then Lindsey ? ;)

A terrible thing to say about another human being in my opinion.
-
I also disagree that "being PC is just good manners" - you need a four year university degree course to get it right these days!
it's getting ridiculous that so many are offended on behalf of others for the slightest thing!
-
His biggest achievement seems to be not dying young.
Never heard of the Duke Of Edinburgh's Award Scheme then Lindsey ? Or that he's been patron of some 800 organisations, particularly focused on the environment, industry, sport, and education.

His biggest achievement seems to be not dying young.
Some people would dearly love to be able to say that a close relative was still around to say their greatest achievement was not to have died aged 36.

I think this thread needs a bit of cheering up

I get really cross when people point out that the royal family do a lot for charity; yes, they turn up now and again, the red carpet is rolled out, an expensive meal is prepared, and they can put a royal name on their letterheads.
Would no one give to charity if it wasn’t for them; do people say to themselves ‘oh look, so and so is a patron of that charity, I’ll get my credit card out’. I don’t think so.
What else have they got to do? Do you really think Philip does the heavy lifting for his award scheme.
Apart from putting his name to things, what else are his achievements?
-
His biggest achievement seems to be not dying young.
Is the above line from your earlier post a perfect example of good manners? I really don't think so, no matter what you think of him that is just downright nasty and makes you a bit of a hypocrite.
-
Is Prince Philip polite?
He gets away with his repellent remarks because of his age, even though he made them when he was a lot younger.
I don’t count speaking about his achievements, or lack of, as impolite by any means.
Growing old is not an achievement; my 92 year old mother waited two hours to see a doctor in A&E this morning, most of it in a corridor. Would this have happened to a royal.
An abhorrent person is an abhorrent person, no matter how old they are.

"An abhorrent person is an abhorrent person, no matter how old they are."
That is so true!
Seems you fit the bill perfectly!

Absolutely agree John.
