Would you credit it

Here's the tale.

Booked flights with flyglobespan using credit card.
When flyglobespan went belly up, phoned the helpline to be told that only redress was through the credit card company.
Phoned credit card company who said I needed to fill up a Claim Form.
I returned said Claim Form.
Received acknowledgement that Claim Form had been received.
In the same post, received Credit Card Statement which included the amount paid to flyglobespan in the Current Balance.
But in the small print "Payment in Dispute Not Required"

Oh really, well if that's the case, why the sam hill did the person I phoned in the credit card company simply tell me not to worry, that the amount would not appear on my bill and that there was no need for me to fill up a Form.

There's a sting in this tale, which I may reveal later.:(
