We are planning a holiday (3 to 4 months) starting in September to the Lagos area of the Algarve. We are familiar with the area but have no stayed for any length of time since the early 90's. We plan to drive down taking the ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao then a 2 day drive to Lagos.

Can anybody help with the following please.

We would like to rent an apartment/small villa does anybody rent out or can put us in touch with anybody who is reliable.

Is there an English forum like CBF on the Algarve.

Do the ATM's dispense pounds sterling as well as Euros.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

If you Google algarve forum one comes up under trip advisor,  seems very similar to cb forum.  We also found one for the part of Spain we are currently in which is also helpful.

Stayed in 1 bed apartments ( for 2 persons) last couple of winters, albeit in Portimao for as little as £10 per night
