Our plans are now sorted. A couple of hours after Scunner opened this thread our next door neighbour came round to invite us to join a few family and friends for early drinks tonight. Following that Hilary has volunteered to cook us a meal: smoked salmon & prawns; ricotta and spinach stuffed chicken breasts wrapped in Parma ham with hedgehog potatoes; and her special orange pastry mince pies with home made tutti fruiti ice cream (my only contribution). Selecting the appropriate wines for each course will be a challenge!

[This is also my answer to the "Your favourite restaurant" thread.]

See, that's what you and the government have in common.

We're all in it together folks !

You are a foul-mouthed cad, blackguard and utter rotter. Happy New Year.

Now, now boys, play nicely!  ;). Not doing anything tonight for the first time since the children were small. Getting ready to cross off the main one on the bucket list.  Off to NZ on Monday. Need to be fully rested and "dry" for the marathon journey.   8) ;D : :) :-* ;D ;D ;D

I just hope and pray wherever people go in their country, they are safe from the fanatics in the world today, sad to see Brussels  has cancelled its new year celebrations . as for me, indoors  heating on, good company, good wine, good food, and to hell with Calis prom. although  I might wander down tomorrow to watch them nutters go in the sea. Happy new year to all. ps  don't forget after tomorrow I will be back to nasty grumpy old Tory Des.   ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
