Yes, shocking news. He turned 69 last week and had battled cancer for 18 months. A sad loss.  RIP.

Very Sad News, one of the greats, my personal favourite was of him and Mick Jagger dancing in the streets on Live Aid. R I P David.

I was only watching the video on Friday of his new LP/Single and thought that age was creeping up on him, turns out I was very wrong there.  Not many I would lay this one on, but he was a true musical genius.  A constant not just in my youth - when I wore out a vinyl and cassette copies of Hunky Dory and Ziggy - but right through life, until today.  His music was always pushing the boundaries, and always worth listening too, even if some of it was not as rich as his 70/80s height, well by Bowie standards anyway.  Always struck me as a nice bloke too, even through some of the facades he portrayed, I was always convinced he never took himself too seriously.

I never knew the man but I am going to strangely miss him, but at least I get to keep his music.

A sad loss indeed, Alladin Sane was the soundtrack to my A levels, seems it was the only album we had in the 6th study.

Eerily the video of Space Oddity has been on GMB, the penultimate no showing on the countdown is 69!!
