Poetic license
« on: April 20, 2016, 07:52:21 AM »

The UK  Spectator Magazine has organised a competition to find the most insulting poem about the Turkish President.

The winning poet will receive £ 1,000. It may not be appreciated by a couple of prominent people but makes an important point.

The last paragraph regarding the 23rd June makes a valid point.     ;)

For centuries people struggled for the right for free speech. Now we use it for writing dirty ditties about Erdogan. Oh well, I suppose I'd better start practising 'cos if we vote OUT in June I'm be in severe need of that £1000.

I know a fellow called Erdogan

Who rules the world – or thinks he can
As  pious as pious can be
He robs the whole country
He's the greedy Shoebox Man

Yes, definitely need more practice.

Quite so. I was aiming for cutting political satire rather than low crudity. I'll leave the latter to Kevin.

They must have drunk a few bottles of it before they attempted to spell the name of their company - or they are Americans.
