Medication
« on: April 25, 2016, 18:35:14 PM »
My GP has just changed one of my tablets, so having 3 un-opened boxes of my previous tabs, i took them back to my chemist. To my astonishment I was told that they put them in the bin!!
If this medication can not be used in the U.K. why can they not donate it to a charity for use somewhere else in the world? Absolutely scandalous waste of money.

Because they don't know if it has been tampered with in some way. Even poisoning foreigners with tainted drugs is frowned upon by our medicants. I check what medicines I have been given in front of the pharmacy team and return any I don't need straight from the package. As soon as they leave the pharmacy any returns will be binned. You are actually asked to return unused drugs to the pharmacy for safe disposal rather than chucking them in your dustbin.
