1944 then 2014
This is one of the most fascinating forwards I've ever received... I kept going back and forth on each picture and was totally mesmerized!  Now this is an incredible use of technology.  Like traveling back in time!

Directions:  Just click on the photo anywhere and it will become 2014. Click again and it will go back to 1944; or you can left click and hold on each photo, and then drag your mouse gently from left to right on the original photograph and it will be become a photo of the exact same location and view in 2014.  Drag it back to the left and you are back in 1944!

Scroll down for more of the same.

Like Scorcher I seem to remember this being on here before, but I think it was for a different set of photos.  Fantastic stuff, the picture that caught my eye (picture 4) was the Royal marine coming ashore with his kit up high on his shoulders to stop it getting wet, but the big surprise was that he was wearing glasses.  Tough organisation to get in, is the Royal Marines, so I am surprised that he did when he needed specs?  So he must have not only been a tough guy to get in, but someone who must of been very determined to get into the Royal Marines.

Having said that, this was an extraordinary generation, so why am I surprised?

They could have been safety glasses.      ;)

I believe parts of the assessment were found to be ever so slightly incorrect.
