Jacqui Harvey, an apology
« on: July 05, 2016, 20:08:25 PM »
Last week I 'liked' a post by Desmartinson which was aimed at Jacqui Harvey.
I was completely wrong to do so.
Having just re-read the thread, I regret that I had commented.

By way of explanation, but not as an excuse, I had just read the news report about the attacks at Istanbul airport, I logged into CBF to see if anyone had posted about it and the latest post was from the aforesaid Desmartinson slating Jacqui for posting about an inappropriate offer of cheap 'flip-flops', I liked the comment, BUT before doing so I wrongly failed to check the time of Jacqui's original post, which was prior to the attack.

I would publicly like to offer my sincerely apologies to Jacqui Harvey for my action, in addition to doing so I have just sent a financial donation via PayPal to Highlander which I would ask to be forwarded to a charity of Jacqui's choice.

Again, Jacqui, my sincere apologies.

Nicest post I have read on here in a long time.

It takes a decent person to admit a mistake especially publicly.

Well done hamlet and I can confirm that your generous donation has been gratefully received.

Thank you Hamlet, I gladly accept your apology and very kind of you to make a donation with Highlander.
Of course, I would like it to go to the 3C's

Far more like the community we once had and should have. Well done Hamlet. Maybe this could act as a turning point where we leave the snide comments, the personal insults, the low-key bullying and the post stalking behind and get sharing good info and stories about Calis and life itself.

(Just to be fully clear I don't mean Hamlet is involved in any of the above  ;) )

Share the Calis love :D

I often wonder how many read but are scared to post.
Especially newbies. Theres been a few intros recently but dont see many again.
Well done Hamlet for hopefully starting a new trend  :)

Several, I think.

When I have referred to the forum as a useful information source to people living here, I've often had a reply on the lines of, 'yes, I know about it/am a member but they jump down your throat and start being clever if you ask anything, so I don't go on it'.
