Update to this posting.  My Daughter in Law visted our local branch of B.&.Q she saw a lamp in the Sales Section, the box had been opened but lamp looked fine.  She picked it up and then went to the Lightning department. She saw the same lamps both boxed, at full price.  She asked the assistant were they exactly the same and would they also be reduced. The assistant confirmed they were the same lamps as the reduced one and that she would go and get them reduced too.  My D.I.L waited.  The assistant came back and told her that she had asked the Manager and he also confirmed that they were the same lamp as the reduced one, but, because they had a different bar code they could not be reduced. :-[ :-X

Perhaps the moral of this story is to stop going to B & Q!    ;)

The rate at which Kingfisher is closing B&Q stores you'll be lucky to find one to boycott.

They're making it easier to get screwed though.

They have plans to open another 200 Screwfix branches.

And yet TKmaxx sell makeup, lipsticks etc that have clearly been opened and tried. That is not allowed in most places even if they've just been unscrewed, as without a seal they could have been 'tampered' with.

On an even more serious wasteful scenario, returned, unused, very expensive drugs, still within their sealed packs must be destroyed when they could be banked and sent to countries begging for medicines.

Agree Lotty, an awful not of waste in this country.  It is a shame that drugs cannot be sent abroad.

D.I.L was trying to match up lighting from the other branch visited.  She is super excited that they are getting a new house and she is trying to save money to furnish it.
