What we are looking at is a little bit of a novel way of managing our exposures. We are trying to find another company that will have a similar problem as we have but the opposite way. We will then agree to exchange cash flows so we both will have little or no exposure.  We have one of our clients in France looking into it to finding a suitable partner.

Good idea - hope it works out for you and your company.

Same from me Gerry - I wish you and your business every possible success and any necessary luck. Based on limited appreciation of the situation I think (and hope) the biggest problem since the referendum is uncertainty and hopefully that won't last too long. Whether we like it or not we're heading out and I can only hope that those politicians and businessmen that were so committed to leaving are right, and once the uncertainty settles, we're free to build a massively successful United Kingdom.

John and Keith

I totally agree with you. I want to see a better and fairer UK.

I think people have become disenfranchised and disillusioned with life. I hate what is going on.  Companies using Agency staff, Zero hours contracts, wages depressed and paying immigrants peanuts for working for them. Years of austerity and the government continuously attacking the worst off in society to provide tax cuts for the rich. Many people are on benefits and tax credits because they are not paid a proper living wage. We are supposed to be a well off country and we have food banks, people living in doorways and having payday loans with extortionate rates of interest to meet day to day bills. I do not like wasters and scroungers but all of the worst off in the country cannot be included in this group. Years of neglect in building and renewing infrastructures.

It hurts to see children without food and clothing. OAPs dying because they cannot afford to pay for heating.Young men and women who have never had a job.

These are problems that the government need to fix urgently.

Apologies for the rant but I do care passionately about my fellow human beings.

Well said OPO

Where are we now - somewhere that we make tax cuts while people queue up for free bags of tins, a society where the very poorest pay the very highest prices for everyday items and appliances. Where is the compassion?

I saw a programme on TV recently, it was generally about doleys and scroungers out for all they can extract from the state. In the programme, a child (possibly 8, I'm not the best at knowing these things) had a camera thrust her way when they were discussing holidays. She said she'd never been on holiday - ever.

It made me wonder - if some banker or company CEO was watching, perhaps someone with 20 million in the bank, and foaming a the mouth in pursuit of another 20 million - I wonder what they would make of a child who'd never once experienced the excitement of a couple of hundred quid holiday experience.

And eventually I decided - they wouldn't give a f*ck.

Vivre la compassion - it's what sets us apart from the rich. And we can afford it too.

The new Brexit Secretary Dangerous Davis. The man who does not even know how the single market works. He is proposing separate trade deals with each country.
It strikes me that, over the next couple of years, we are going to see a head-on clash (crash?) between two very different conceptions of what "The Single Market"  means. For Brexiteers it seems to mean being able to sell good & services in the EU without paying tariffs. For EU politicians and bureaucrats it seems to mean a free movement across borders for goods & services, capital and labour. So for Brexiteers it makes some sort of sense to say "We want to be part of the single market, but we want to control immigration so we can't accept free movement of labour". For EU authorities this is ludicrous: "Do you want to join the single market or not? If you do then you get free movement. That's what it is about".

Should provide some interesting negotiations.

And to add to the interest France and Germany have upcoming Elections. Given the problems associated with mass

immigration and the disgusting acts of terrorism the people holding the reins of power in those countries may be

very different people with very different views on free movement of people one or two years up the road. The free

movement project cannot continue, the various populations throughout Europe will not let it continue. It is impacting

on their way of life in negative ways. The dissent has already started and it will grow, so negotiating positions will

change very rapidly. Anything can happen from now on but I am sure the Brussels Elites days are numbered and I

can see a bright future for  UK plc.
