Argo 2012 caught it on a plane flight a couple of years ago. Well worth a watch...

"Lost for words" - Thora Hird and Pete Postlethwaite.  Humour tinged with a little sadness, great film.

If you want a really silly laugh then watch Anchorman. Stupidly funny based on 70's American news stations. Both that and Anchorman 2 are on Netflix I think.

One older film I can watch again and again is 'Cousins' with Ted Danson and Isabella Rossellini. Great scenery fun and songs/music to make you join in.

American Sniper.  One film I did not want to watch and thought I would not like, but I was hooked it is based on a true story.

As I said "based".  Films are films and not exact to every detail.

Not movies, but if you haven't watched Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad they are definitely worth a look.
