My favorite oldies are

A matter of life and death starring David Niven.

Blythe Spirit starring Rex Harrison and Margaret Rutherford

Brief Encounter starring Trevor Howard and Celia Johnson.

Brief Encounter starring Trevor Howard and Celia Johnson.

I remember that is one of Delboy's too in Only Fools and Horses. His favourite part was when that big spaceship came down.

Some great ones have already been posted.

 I enjoyed (without expecting to) : -

"As Good as it Gets" - Jack Nicholson

"The Silence of the Lambs" - Jody Foster

"The Matrix" - Keanu Reeves

"Gladiator" - Russell Crowe

Somewhat off beat is "Spirited Away" - a Japanese, animated film that led me to buy many others.

A very good film caused something I have never experienced before or since. On a flight I watched "Waking Ned", a really

funny Irish film. Everyone on the flight, including the crew were laughing out loud. Wonderful experience.

I would have been happier if the pilot had concentrated on flying the plane  ;)

At least we would have had a funny ending. Happiest flight I have been on.
