Now I don't want to scare monger in case I have picked this up wrongly.
my Turkish neighbour an insurance agent, has informed me that he has been unable to renew my insurance as the previous agent had used a false ID number. he also added that new regulations state that foreigners who do not have a kimlik are unable to buy property or arrange insurance for their properties - I kind of knew that you couldn't buy a vehicle , but was no aware that it related to
Property also.
A bit worried now as I thought it was essential that you needed to have earthquake insurance.
Could any of you kind people shed some light on this for me.
