today i stopped at the Garanti ATM at the roundabout, two English ladies were trying to get the text in english to withdraw some money, a very nice turkish man offered his help but instead helped himself to their card out of the machine, I felt so sorry for these ladies, a lovely turkish girl told us that there are cameras on the atm machine, the ladies returned to their hotel to report theft to bank and police. I hope all turns out ok and sorry i could not have been any help. He was so quick that we didnt even realise he has swiped the card until i tried to put my card in. :-\

mmm Im sure if I'd have posted something of this nature on this forum I wouldnt have been believed this story sounds hard to believe sorry I dont believe you ....

It has happened on quite a number of occasions in Calis and other resorts, witnessed by a wide variety of members. There is nothing not to believe, unless you are back to try and build up your attempted "controversial member" routine again - which frankly doesn't cut the mustard either!

interstingly enough... we were at the atm in Calis by the taxi rank last night and I noticed both booths are fitted with CCTV cameras!

It's an attempt to beat the record for getting the word 'believe' the most times in one short line

About three months ago, my husband was using the ATM at the roundabout while I watched from over by the entrance to the car park. I spotted a youngish chap approaching him in a slightly odd way and lurking suspiciously behind him as he used the machine. I began running over to warn him. But before I got there he had completed the transaction and the 'lurker' walked off slowly but kept stopping to look back. I have no proof that he was up to no good, but my gut instinct tells me that something put him off..

Yes, he was thinking it was an earthquake and dived for cover, LOL!

A good time to remind members to have the emergency number for their bank on their mobiles so that they can cancel their cards immediately if there's a problem. By the time you've gone home or to an internet cafe to get online your account could be wiped out.
