Not Calis, but well worth a visit, and at the moment Fatih will do you a free transfer from here if you can get a party of 10 or 11.
I went with a party of 11 last night, we were picked up at the water taxi at 4pm, an hours run to Kabak with beautiful scenery along the way, and still plenty of time for a swim in their pool before dinner. The food was excellent, several of us opted for the fillet steak, and at 39tl not overpriced. Everyone was happy with their meal, and most of us ordered a desert as well, again excellent. Drinks were reasonable priced, a decent size glass of wine 14tl. When we were ready to go home at 10pm Fatih returned us to Calis, there was no charge for the transfer. A fabulous night in a beautiful location, delicious food, a few drinks, my total bill only came to 90tl which I think is value for money. Highly recommended.

That was yesterday. I can't remember that far back.

Sounds brill. If only we had that many friends. ;)

Went to the Olive Garden, Kabak by Dolmus from Fethiye today for lunch. Had a fantastic meal of salmon priced at 32 TRL. Lovely spot overlooking the sea. Would definitely visit again and fully recommend.
Had a look at one of the small lodges and would certainly consider spending a night there.
Dolmus from Fethiye was only 7 lira.

How long was the dolmus journey there ReidSk?
-
The journey time was 1 hr 10 mins but well worth the ride. They run on the hour from Fethiye. If I remember correctly the last one back is at 20.30. Sheila

I,d love to walk down to that beach cove, apparently you can get a scary lift back up. Friends stayed overnight. Said it was fab.

We set out to drive there one day and called into Hisaronu first to pick something up. The English lady working in the shop told us not to even think about driving up there as the road was terrible and we would be right on the edge. So, we decided against it and went to Kayakoy for lunch instead.

I've been up there in a 14 seater bus and know that I could drive up easily. So how did the lady in the shop know that you are a crap driver?

I driven up that road dozens of times. There are 32 tonne 8-wheelers that use it. No problems whatsoever.

I drove up there with a car full of friends on Friday but actually went higher up the mountain to Lyssia - there's a sign to take you up a very rough track just before you get Olive Garden. Outstanding views of the Med and the beach at Kabak.
I have driven around Faralya and Kabak many times without incident but I admit to declining a friend's suggestion to drive up there during the last Bayram. The driving from the out of towners that come to the area during Bayram is just too crazy even on the normal roads, so wouldn't risk it then.
But Jacqui in normal, outside of Bayram times, it's definitely worth the drive :)

If you turn left at the phone mast that overlooks Butterfly Valley the road takes you way up into the mountains and then by turning left at the T-Junction at Kirme you eventually reach the foot of Babadag and the winter launch-site for the paragliders. There are some absolutely stunning views from up there.
If you turn right at Kirme and head down through Karaağaç you eventually come out at Esen. Again, another beautiful mountain route.

I drove over her foot when asking the question...

Ha ha, Jacqui, but seriously, the road was bad years ago but it is ok now. But I agree with Menthol, driving over the Bayram periods is definitely on my no no list.
