FFS, he's been number one for about ten minutes and we should now prostrate ourselves on the altar of Murray?

Get a grip.

Good grief - of course you could !!!!!!. That was the question.

I'll try again especially for you.

Question 1: Do you think that Andy Murray is Britain's greatest sportsman across all sports.

Question 2: If toyour answer to question 1 is No then who do consider is.

Good grief H...Read my first post and you will see both my answers to both questions.
Totally agree with you JohnF.

Well done Andy, let's celebrate a great British Sportsman and stop bickering.
Glad to see he is No.1 in the World of Tennis, he has worked hard to achieve that and should be congratulated by everyone in Britain.
I also think he is a good candidate for No.1 Sportsman in the U.K at the moment as he has beaten the tennis world to get to his position.

Formula 1 is my thing really and from there I would choose Stirling Moss.
From other sports Daley Thompson is up there, more recently I would say Chris Hoy.

I love F1 to and can understand you choosing Moss above the modern drivers such as Hamilton .Not that he isn't  a superb driver of the faster
modern cars. But in the earlier era's I think the cars then were far harder to drive so more driver skill was needed to control them. We live near Brands Hatch and when younger often went to watch the British Grand Prix.Brands Hatch was a very difficult circuit to master to.I do miss going there.

I didn't name anyone one person H. As I said there are so many sports and so many great sportsmen/women to choose from.I think
if you were into darts you would maybe pick Phil Taylor who has won 16 world championships. Maybe if your into snooker you could choose
from a few candidates. The list is never ending.

James, if you don't understand how to use the "reply with quote" feature, just reply. That way we can work out what bit was yours.

Scunner you correct I don't know how. I'm just guessing how to do it. The same as I don't know how to take a sentence out of a topic  and just quote that.Nothing is really explained to a newbie like me on how to do these things on here.I have looked at "A simple quide to using reply with quote" but it makes no sense to me at all.Maybe its because it was written 7 years ago.Or just maybe I'm just slow. I  apologize anyway.
