Hi...I have an unlocked MIFI box i use in europe, can i buy a Turkish data SIM locally ( pre pay ) or do you have to be resident in Turkey.

Yes you can and it will work until the device is blocked for not being registered (tax paid) after a few weeks. The MiFi has the same rules as a non Turkish mobile being used with a Turkish sim. Best bet is either buy a mifi here with a Turkish sim or buy a UK Vodafone PAYG sim from UK as package now includes Turkey so you can use the monthly allowance in turkey without additional charge.

I've got a Turk Telecom Mifi dongle thingy, will the Vodaphone sim work in that one?

Thanks Simon..... I'm only over for 2 weeks so I guess a turkcell sim would be ok. I looked at Vodafone but didn't think they did PAYG data sims

A Turkcell sim will indeed do you for a two week holiday Chris. No great Vodafone PAYG roaming offer but you can take up a one month notice contract and cancel at the end of month one.

In terms of the Vodafone sim, I went in a UK VF shop, paid £10 for a sim an 1 months package and not even asked my name, up to me whether I renew so no need to cancel.
