Just had a Lahmacun in the Mulberry tree. First time there and very nice. Bought a calendar for Animal Aid charity, great cause.   :)

Would also recommend the Apple Cafe next door. Lovely place. everything freshly made. Go and look their  home made cakes in the display... Yummy...
A place all the local shopkeepers use for their lunches and take-away sandwiches.

Thanks Jacqui & Ally B, stumbled accross the Mulberry by chance and recognised the name from being mentioned on here. Would like to try the Apple Cafe if i can find my bearings back there.   ;)

Well after our lovely lunch at the Mulberry on Wednesday, decided to take my Mother & Father-in-law today. We all really enjoyed our meal but was disappointed when we were given the Turkish menu (as the waiter assumed we were all Turkish until i asked for an English menu) to discover the menu for English were a few lira more in price. My hubby pointed this out and realised we had been charged English prices 2days previous as i ordered the food. Bit naughty me thinks considering a lot of their customers were English. I know they give a lot for charity but same price for all please.

More than a "bit naughty", its tantamount to stealing.

Mind you, there was one  occasion where we got the wrong menus and to be honest we didn't mind.  It was in Cuba a few years ago and instead of the tourist menu, priced in CUC's, we got the local menu priced in Cuban pesos.  Tourist prices were, on average, twenty times more expensive than local prices - given that even at tourist prices our meal cost about £2 and local wages at that time were about $20 a month, we really weren't that bothered.

But the Mulberry Tree, shame on you...

Another one scored off the list - shame on the Mulberry Tree.

Isn't it owned by an English woman too?

There was an English woman serving Scunner but wasn't sure if she was the owner. But if so that's definitely not good ripping your own people off. Mind you i don't condone ripping anyone off.
