I have,nt googled this yet, but does any know the last time Man Utd had lost 8 games in the league after only 6 months, and if so was it under S A F.

Wide scale flooding expected throughout the UK tonight as thousands of Manchester United fans flush their season tickets down the toilet.

What sort of answer was that to the question KKOB?

A mildly humorous one. :)

It wasn't about engineering Dave so, probably why you struggled with it. ;)

Stoke seems to be M.U.'s bogie team just now.

I got it just did'nt see the relevance to the question asked.

To actually try and return to the question...
I doubt it ever happened under SAF. His early underachievement is well documented and quite distorted - his first season of course started (I think) in a November - so he couldn't have lost 8 games in the first six months because he wasn't there for much of the first six months.
Furthermore, any building pressure on SAF was not, as often suggested, due to the number of defeats. Manchester United, under SAF's early years, suffered from too many DRAWS.
So Des, to give you a learned and comprehensive answer for a change, no - such a string of results was almost definitely not last seen under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Thank you Keith. :)
