The 2018 Kawasaki Puccetti Racing team and their motorcycles are geared to earn back the FIM Supersport World Championship.
Multi-time FIM Supersport World Champion Kenan Sofuoglu is a Turkish professional motorcycle racer, who has won a record number of Supersport World Championship titles: five, in 2007, 2010, 2012, 2015 and 2016.
His participation in the 2017 season appeared to have been ended by crash injuries during practice at Magny-Cours, France, on September 30, but after a period of only five weeks he returned to participate in the last meeting at Qatar, finishing the race in third place and totalling points for second place in the championship.
Kenan will also be joined in the World Superbike championship riding for the Puccetti Racing Team by 2015 Superstock 600 Champion and 2017 Superstock 1000 runner-up, Toprak Razgatlioglu.
Toprak was unfortunately robbed of a win in the penultimate race of 2017 Superstock 1000 when the race was red flagged after he took the lead. Meaning the race was won by the previous lap leader who caused the red flag when he fell off. This race if it had gone full distance, which was only another lap, would have all but made him champion.
There is an official test for this season's World Superbike and Supersport championships taking place from 19-20 February at Philip Island in Australia, also the venue for the first round which is just a few days later on 23-25 February.
After the first days testing Toprak is laying in 11th place, just 1.5 seconds of the lead. Amazing for a young rider (21) never having been to Philip Island before.
In the Supersport Kenan is laying 5th, less than .5 second off the lead.
Also this year Can and Deniz Öncü are competing in the Asia talent cup and the Red Bull rookies cup. Here is a link to an article about the very promising 14 year old twins.
