The DVLA that is. Here's why:.
In June 2008 I sent them my license as required. In April 2009, as instructed by them, I applied to have my license returned so that I could drive again from June 2009.
On returning from Calis in June 2009, I received a cover note stating that it was alright for me to drive and that if I was ever stop by the police all I need do was show them the note.
At that time I asked when they expected to be able to return my license and was told that they didn't know, because they hadn't talked to my Consultant.
Q: How could they possibly give me a cover note allowing me to drive without speaking to the right medical people.
Two days later I received a letter informing that I should not contact them again by telephone, email or by letter and that they would decide when I would get my license back.
Lo and behold a brown envelope with the DVLA logo on it arrived today. Ah ! - my license at last I thought. No chance. Here's what it said:..
"Thank you for filling in our medical form (that was the one in April by the way).
Because we need to an update of your medical condition, a questionnaire is enclosed for you to fill in, although this is the same as the previous questionnaire it will give us an update of an changes to your current medical condition.
If you do not fully fill in and return the form and/or consent within 21 days, your driving license may have to be revoked or your application may have to be refused."
Bloody marvelous isn't it. You've urinated about for 8 months and now you have the temerity to give me a deadline of 21 days. I swear I'm going down to Swansea and I'm going to bomb their gaff. And yes, I will be going by car.
PS Miss Tracey J Jones (Welsh perhaps) who sent the letter doesn't know how to spell license
