Are You Sure It's Christmas?
« on: December 11, 2009, 17:16:36 PM »
11th of December and still nothing in the papers about somebody somewhere trying to spoil it all!

No story like someone has banned sweets being thrown to the kids at the Panto in case one gets hit in the eye with a barley sugar, no new phrases to prevent drawing any attention to the fact that it is a religious holiday (such as "festive illuminations" instead of christmas lights), nobody is trying to ban the Pogues' Fairytale of New York as this year the word faggot should be objected to after being fine for 20 previous years.

I do wonder if it is Christmas at all.

The Highways Agency has removed a Christmas tree from a roundabout in Cornwall as tinsel and baubles may cause distraction.

Normal service is resumed

One line carol singers banging on your door,
Cards from folk you don't like,
The local pub employing a so called celeb chef who buggers up a perfectly simple Xmas meal at triple the price,
And to top it all the big family row started by the family lush and ends up at the best in tears or a punchup.
Who needs Christmas?
"BA HUMBUG"[:(!]
