Christmas Ripoff
« on: December 19, 2013, 11:29:11 AM »
I am aware that there may be all kinds of dodges going on at this time of year but it is the first time I've experienced this one. I have been shopping in Lidl where I buy a tray of 18 lagers. I took a tray of premium lagers off the shelf. There were a few gaps in the tray so I filled them up with individual cans. At the checkout I put one can on the conveyor and said "I have 18 of these" and paid for them. It was only when I got home and was unloading them that I discovered I had filled a couple of gaps with cheapo lager - but had paid premium price for them.

I comes to something when you can't even trust yourself not to rip you off!

Yours, Distraught of Bristol

Colwyn for two reasons you have slipped of the pedestal I had placed you on.

Firstly with this terrible self inflicted wound of an error with Herr Lidl.  Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, what are you doing buying lagers in the first place  :o :o :o And I do not care if they were premium or not.  ;)

UBT. I am buying lager because if I feel the need for something wet over Xmas (i.e. not red wine, which is dry) I'm not going to have some plastic ale out of a tin because it is all vile. Bottled beers are OK but even with those I prefer draught. I have sworn off drinking cider since I had my full lifetime quota during my teens and early twenties.

Scunner, it is "premium pilsener finest quality" brewed in accordance with Reinheitgebo (German Purity Law) but I suspect you meant something different.
