Birthday Treat
« on: January 23, 2015, 17:08:48 PM »
I've just had an email from an outfit called Scrivens Opticians, of which I haven't even heard let alone been a customer, titled "Mr Jones, It's Your Birthday Next Month!". As it happens, I knew that. The text of the message is:

It's not just wisdom that comes with age it's great discounts as well, and because you've got a birthday next month, celebrate your special day with 10% off your next pair of glasses when you come in and see us before the end of March.

Wasn't that a kind thought!

And if you can't "see them" before the end of March you should go to Specsavers!  ;D

At last, an organisation that is not short sighted!

I remember going to the opticians recently.  I told him that I think I need to wear glasses now.  He said "come with me" and I followed him out of the door into the street. He then said, "what is that that bright yellow disc in the sky?" I said "Eh... the sun, why?" "Well" he said. "The sun is 93 million miles away and you can see that clearly. How far do want to see?- you don't need glasses, good day"

So, as long as I can see the sun, I know I don't need glasses.  Try the test yourself...  Don't forget to wear sunglasses first though.
