When I read your title my first thought was that, given the current security situation in south east Turkey, you must be either an adrenaline junkie or just plain crackers.
However, seeing Mersin, Nigde and Konya I'm making the assumption you're heading north from Mersin (southern Turkey) and not heading east into south east Turkey? Its such a shame the situation in the east is what it is, you're missing out on being able to scoot round the corner to Antakya, famous for its fantastic food or visiting Iskenderun (originally named Alexandria after Alec the great). That said, it wouldn't take a major diversion to visit Adana
otherwise known as spicy kebab heaven.
