« on: December 24, 2018, 06:25:26 AM »
Gunaydin! I just wondered what the biggest supermarkets were in the area? I’ls there a carrefour down in fethyie? There’s quite a sizeable one in marmaris.

Any suggestions on biggest/best and location?

There's a couple of small Carrefour supermarkets in Fethiye; one's near the otogar, the other is at the bottom end of the car park opposite McDonalds. The biggest supermarkets in Fethiye are all Migros; 3 x MMM in total, 2 of which were Kipa & have recently been rebranded - they are 1) behind the court building 2) on Gunlukbasi Road & 3) the original Migros, which is at the Fethiye end of the 22 metre road

That’s brillint. I think I had called into one of the migros last time I visited - I knew it used to be kippa. Many thanks  :) I like some of the carrefour home stuff so that might be a trip to marmaris

You mean Tespo. Yes. There are bargains to be had there. Bear in mind though that because it's a cash 'n' carry you'll really only make a saving when buying in bulk.

Sorry, my mistake! I was thinking more for buying likes of Pepsi/cola, toilet rolls, washing powder etc a little bit like we do at home in the UK.

Is it pretty easy to sign up? The price on the shelf what you pay?

I don't ever recall 'signing-up' but you may have to now. Yes, the prices are clearly displayed.

I’m going to pop in next week and will have a look. Is it right that migros have a club card that gives discount on their products that are on offer at the time? Does anyone use this? How does it work?

Yep. You can buy the Migros card at the Customer Service desks or from any of the checkouts for a few TL. You'll often see 2 prices on goods. One is a 'normal' price, the other with a card. There are sometimes special promotions that can only be bought by card holders.

It's the Migros Money Club card you need. Costs 2tl & you get the yellow ticket prices. Also there are various offers whereby if you spend a stated amount  you get a specific item at substantial discount.
