Well done Darren Clarke on winning his first major at the age of 42. All this after losing his wife to breast cancer in the prime of her life. A real comeback by a real fighter.

Couldn't have been won by a more genuine good guy. Dead chuffed for him.

Totally agree, things are going well for Darren and he has a lovely fiance now, a former Miss N.Ireland.  It could not have happened to a nicer guy.   Incidentally, the old man is chuffed that N.I. are doing so well, three Champions at Golf from such a small country cannot be bad.

As laffa would say " made up" for Darren Clarke. A fantastic victory for one of the good guys. And lets not forget a very genuine and gracious Phil Mickleson.

I don't usually care to much for the golf stick game, but was delighted to hear that a genuine nice man won for once.

Got to agree, well done Darren. I must admit though when Mickelson made his charge and matched him on 5 under I feared the worst.

I am so happy for him.

Very good programme on BBC 1 lat night following Darren Clarke after his victory.

From very shortly after sinking the winning put, his primary thought was taking the Claret Jug back to his two beloved sons who had lost their mother so tragically just 5 years ago. If you watched the re-union between the three of them and it didn't bring a tear to your eye and a lump to your throat then you may not have been breathing.

Darren Clarke is a big, big man in every sense and I wish him, his new future wife and his family every possible happiness in the future
