According to Facebook (yeah I know), the Turkish government will introduce an amazing system involving a special 'electronic key' that you need to give to renters to open the front door. You then need to let the local police know who is renting so they don't have to come round when the front door is opened and the key alerts them remotely of the entry to the property. It is suggested the basis of this is to make sure renting owners pay their taxes. If you don't inform the local police station daily - yes you need to inform them every EVERY DAY that someone is in your property, you will be fined 10,000 TL for each non-reported rental.
So there, a country that can't even keep a household connected to the internet will soon have a wireless system linking everyone's front doors to the police station.
Facebook. The internet, but on drugs.
