Road Maps
« on: June 13, 2012, 12:40:37 PM »
Does anyone have any idea where you can get a paper road map of Fethiye and surrounding areas as this little ones I have used in the past are really not that much good. I have searched on the web but cannot find anything remotley suitable.

Any advice would be more than welcome.

Tony  ;)

Thanks Steve A but I did say a "proper paper map" like the Ordnance Survey type you get in the UK  ;)

The shop on the right as you turn in from the prom (with the steps up) have a very good detailed road map of Fethiye area !

JWood thanks do these cover areas as far as Kalkan & Kas? and when you say "shop on the right as you turn in from the prom" can you be a bit more specific as I am niot sure where you mean, which end of the prom?

Hi teetee,
as you turn off the prom from the new viewing area to go to the water taxis in Calis there is a shop on the right with steps up to it. The map is on one side a road map from Koycegiz (west of Dalaman) right down to Antalya, so yes it includes Kalkan and Kas. On the other side it is a road/street map of the whole of Calis and Fethiye. The map has a green and orange cover and they are usually displayed at the front of the shop. It was TL4.50 when we bought ours a year or so ago. The make is 'Bilge Maps'.
How's that for detail ?
Cheers,
John

About the best I have seen I got from the tourist information office in Fethiye (go past the amphitheatre & towards the entrance to Ece Saray marina). On one side it has the whole region & on the other a street map of Calis & Fethiye. Some friends borrowed it a few weeks ago & it was more than adequate for their various days out, which included Kas & Kalkan

teetee!  The only map IMO good to use for the longer jouneys is the EURO MAP Turkey from the UK, The Turkish "proper" maps are a lot out of date. If you are here in Fethiye, would agreewith Liz101 and the TI office.  :)
