UK Electric Sockets
« on: June 25, 2012, 20:05:12 PM »
Stupid Question or thought provoking Question?

Gordon in one of his quiet thoughtful moments asked me (why me?) would it be possible to bring Electrical sockets from UK to Turkey and change the majority from Turkish to UK.  Many of the appliances we have are from the the UK plus the UK sockets are that much more substantial.

Clear as mud  ;) eh?

I would opt for changing the plugs on the appliances before changing all the sockets.

we have changed plugs and used adaptors, I have never liked the Turkish electrical sockets and once Gordon mentioned it I started thinking.
I just hate to see Gordon rested and this seemed a good little project, bet he wishes he kept his mouth shut now.

Yes. A friend of ours changed all their sockets in their house in Ovacik to UK 3 pin. They also moved the sockets to skirting board and worktop level instead of having them half-way up the wall.
