Well as long as you don't count Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and, of course, the historic county of Bristol as part of The South I won't complain.

Anyone South of Teeside is a Southerner and even the Smoggies are stretching it.If you are below me to the right on the map you are a South Easterner if you are below me to the left you are a South Westerner.If you are Weslh ,Irish or Scots you are foreign - simples !

I live in England but I'm 120 miles north of Manchester, so Manchester is the midlands and anything below Birmingham is the south, so there.

I spent three years in Newcastle and found very few Geordies had a clue about geography.

im so glad you agree, Im Welsh and been offended by people accusing me of being English for years now.
