"Having never been to Turkey, can anyone who went there FOR a cruise, advise if the £10 visa scam for GB passport holders still ongoing?

The cruise T&C's explains passengers transiting (going directly to Marmaris, then departing by ship) are exempt from the £10 cash drop at immigration. However, the cruise invoice warns the visa must be paid for. Confused? We certainly are, especially when querying this, one Thomson shop said you pay, another said you didn't!

Anyone arrived at Dalmation Airport for a cruise (immediate departure) what happened? Is there a certain queue you need to join?

It is just a complaint that Brits shouldn't be singled out to pay £10 at Dalmatia airport to enter an EU country to transit to Marmaris. What misconceptions? And got it right about it being all Maggie Thatcher's fault - usually is.

The cruise leaves on a Monday they have a separate desk for cruise passengers at passport control and you don't need a visa.

"Of course it is a rip-off! it is a tax levied mainly on British travellers. In my book that's racism - either everyone is charged or nobody.

For info - the Visa charge is ONLY if you have a UK Passport, anyone else goes in free."

There's been some pretty dire forums locally over the 10 years of CBF, but nothing comes close to the bigoted, misinformed, ranting, unmoderated, racist, antagonistic waste of bandwidth that is Moneysavingexpert forums.
