« on: September 11, 2013, 06:23:11 AM »
Can anyone advise of a delivery service to UK so our friend can send her personal stuff back, not a great deal of stuff but too much to take as flight luggage. Any advice would be great thanks 8)

The Post Office offers the best rates. If it is more than 2 kilos then delivery takes 10-15 days. It's cheaper and just as quick to use the surface option as opposed to air mail.

Go to the cargo section on the far left as you enter the PTT.

If there are breakable items make sure they are well packed and there is no movement in the box as items rattling around inside are more likely to end up broken.

Use strong sturdy boxes which can be found by the recycle bins and make sure they are well sealed and attach a large printed name and address label in addition to the form that will need to be filled in.

Hope that helps   :)

Also remember flight baggage doesn't have to be 15/20 Kg - these days some let you book multiple cases per person and it really is the cheapest way to bring personal possessions home. You do need to be able to move them though - 4 cases and one person can pose a few problems  :)

Thanks both, have already suggested these options, thinking also of anyone that might be driving back and has space, I have also heard of some companies doing regular runs but can't find any contact details.
