The dreaded subject, Wills
« on: October 03, 2013, 14:18:21 PM »
This subject has plagued me for years, but I have finally found a legal solution to have you UK wishes served in Turkey legally, all above board, it is long winded and involves talking with family and having to spend a bit of cash in the UK having Notarised doc, in Turkish and English, and still have to have Apostiled certs, and swearing of Affidavits but it can be done.

I am limited with internet until later this month, make sure to wake me up if I forget.

I still prefer my version though  ;)

Los, this is something I had not even considered until I read your post so I will keep an eye out for your update. Thank you.   :)

As 'will' is such a common word I was getting frustrated with the search function but I did gather there have been a lot of issues (for you?  :( ) around this area.

Thanks for the current and previous  info.

I have got as far as having our marriage and birth certs  and also our daughters birth certs translated notarised and apostilated.

Currently working on an affidavit. Do you know how long a translated and notarised etc affidavit is valid, here in Turkey. Is it months ,years or decades?
