Title: Iconic photographs
Post by: Highlander on July 23, 2017, 22:16:29 PM
I have always wanted to, but always failed, to take that "special" photograph.

Others, over the years have successfully managed to capture that moment in time - an icon photograph.

Here's my starter. What's yours......

Far to good, I've been looking for it, I was 9 then so that picture lodged in my mind for half a century, an indication of the true power of an image

This image comes to my mind every time I hear or read about Aleppo.  This little boy must have lived through hell and is in complete shock.  I cried the first time I saw this.

Now that is an iconic photograph, swindsor.

Mercifully, I understand that the little lad "recovered" fully. If you can ever recover from that trauma. :(

The trauma and the memories don't fade so quickly. But for the younger children, time will help. It's the older refugees that I really feel for. Everything they worked hard for all their lives taken away and their families scattered or killed.

I moan about my own life far less nowadays.

Isn't it a sad reflection on human life that the majority of photos that become icon depict tragedy or sad events
