Not quite.

If you want to learn a lot of words in a short time (not grammar etc)
I downloaded this for @ £5. It is just a large word document and if you e-mail me I will give you more details.

Mick and I have taken it to the pub and believe it or not it works. Mick even has a smattering of words - and he has not really been one for picking up vocabulary without a lot of effort.

Some of the words may not be the most important you will need but as a basic- and an enjoyable way for two to learn ( and quickfire test words - when the other least expects it) we have had a real laugh with it.

We can also remember the words weeks later so something is sticking.

This indeed is a very clever way to learn.
We've had a great laugh at the reminders to the words.
Thanks Teresa  ;)

How are people getting on with this way of learning?  I have picked up quite a lot with the time spent there, but you can never have too much knowledge!

Sue has been learning with the method that Teresa sent and finds it very useful with the reminders that it gives. I invested in a Linguaphone PDQ before we came out in May and although it is limited it does help me to keep in touch with what I learnt while actually in Calis. It seems that Linguaphone does not do a full Turkish course but only the one I have which is a 'get you by' sort of thing for visitors. We shall have to spend a lot more time in Turkey and learn the language properly!.:D

Thanks Peter.  I downloaded the course and started on it last night, and already I have learnt 20+ words.  It is a really quick and easy way to learn, I will dazzle Marc with my repetoir of the Turkish language next time I see him LOL

quickest way to learn and learn properly is to get away from all the other expats and hang around with Turks all the time, learn backgammon and okey, hang out in the kahves etc etc This way I learned pretty good in 4 months, now after 12 yrs you can imagine.
