Title: The Red Wok
Post by: mercury on June 18, 2011, 07:16:18 AM
We ate at the Red Wok last night after recommendations from friends. 10TL for soup or spring roll. Any chicken dish and fried rice. I have to say that we werent expecting it to be great but it was delicious. You can also buy off the menu with dishes around 6 to 7 tl a portion. Drinks are 6 for local spirits. 4 for Efes and 5 for wine. Not a smart place as yet as they are just starting up but judging by the locals that were coming in for take away already very popular. Added to this the chef from the Fez Bar who did the wonderful Sunday Lunches is also working there and they are also very popular. Service in between courses was as little slow last night due to the take aways but we were given a free drink to compensate for this. I wish them the best of luck in this new venture.

Damn!!, The secrets out,the Red Wok is run by Hussain, former cook from the Fez bar. Was in there Thursday night for a meal, decor a bit basic, but spotlessly clean, best Chinese food I've eaten so far round here, also does a takeaway service.Power to your elbow Hussain, you'll beat the rest of them. :)

Why is it a put off? They have to serve something in the daytime. Not everybody wants chinese for breakfast.!! There are 2 owners here. The other is called Selami and he worked as a chinese chef in Calis. This is theri first year and good on them for trying. Oh and the Sunday lunch at Fez bar was excellent.

Opposite side of the road to the Four Seasons. Nr to the new Azda. It is on the right hand side going towards Hissy. They have a car park across the road on the left.

Selami is Hussains cousin and fully trained chinese chef, hussain obviously does the english brekkies and sunday lunches. All very popular and good prices also takeaways and home delivery too. They are hoping to get the main area covered in for end of season so it can remain open for winter too. Had a few meals there now and they were very good including service etc and they are keeping the price of beer down as much as they can too.

We were there last night. All excellent for the price of 10 TL and the waiting between courses gives you time for conversations.
