Title: M.O.T & residency
Post by: col on February 26, 2012, 11:54:59 AM
Can't seem to find anything on this subject, maybe someone has been in the same boat?
My scooter is due for m.o.t this summer, as it's 3 years old. Of course when I got it I had residency. My question is.....I'm returning to the UK for a few months before m.o.t is due and when I return i'm coming back on just a tourist visa and both my residency & m.o.t will have ran out while i'm the uk. As I don't intend to stay here for more than 3 months at a time, does anyone know if i'll be able to m.o.t the scooter without residency?
Has anyone else been in this position?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Not sure if the law has changed, but a friend of mine only comes out on tourist visas a couple of times a year and he has a scooter for use when he is here. He has not had any problems with MOT etc (as yet!!)  :)

Thank you, it's what i hope for and even if laws have changed, as I purchased it with residency and have turkish licence, I hope it's enough.

Our car had it's first MOT in December 2011, we weren't asked for residency books at any stage, just the car registration docs.
