Title: New road,new bridge.
Post by: micky mouse on May 31, 2014, 21:45:38 PM
Had a ride around today on my scooter noticed a new road beside the cement works running down to the new 5 star hotels that are under construction close to the white houses to a new bridge that is being built across the canal to ourside which is going to link up to a new road that will be running behind cicek where dankys villa is and will join a new road where the blue painted bridge is right down to the dalaman road. This is  for coaches etc to access the new hotels no more peace and quite so im off in october villa up for sale, and if the boat yard arrives more noise, more traffic.

Hotel construction is well under way now - looks pretty big.  In fact you can see the tower cranes from Calis.

The area around where they are puttıng up the staff accomodatıon is a  disgusting mess of mud and potholes and durıng thıs rain its a quagmire all around the area. They have filled in half of the lake at Salık Sıtesı to buıld ıt. All the wıldlfe wıll be gone ıncludıng otters. I am goıng to take photos next week and take them to the Beledıye to see what can be done. Probably nothıng but ıf you dont ask you never know.

If they are filling that lake in then the area is in big trouble? Where will the water go? Is this a permanent block? Is it for hotel staff or the workers building it?

I can't believe they are filling in another lake!

Ok. Got these pictures from the area. Anyone any idea what that big thing is sticking up?

Rumour is they are building accommodation for the Sensatori staff but Legless says that has already been built at the hotel.

Also I'm surprised it's been screened off. Unusual in these parts?(http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/11/17/b83609e389dcbdc7bfc9e64939833078.jpg)(http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/11/17/517d01fe473b090eb79139b31987ac3b.jpg)(http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/11/17/a2a8c49589ee08818dfaf7203d68eac3.jpg)(http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/11/17/d354afad6575c598066e39e12a7d272a.jpg)

Satellite of the area. Why build there? It's a bloody lake!

Plus plan of the hotel. Could the left side be staff accommodation?

just spoke with my turkish neighbour he said that he went to the council office to complain as lorries are going past his house day and night at hi speeds, he is extremely up set with all the mess and confirmed that its going to be accommodation for staff from the hotel, is it time to call it a day i ask my self ? my little taste of paradise  could be coming to an end.
would anybody who can take pictures for me around my Villa area please do so as my turkish neighbour does not have a digital camera he has explained to me how bad it is but seeing these pictures it a nightmare come true ?
if this is like this next summer how could we even holiday there gutted aint the word ?

Hopefully the building will be finished by then Danky. The hotel opens in May so staff will be in place by then. The roads might be back to normal then?

Not happy though.

You would expect they will have to improve the roads, coaches will be transporting paying guests to a 5 star facility. First impressions and all that?

Post by: micky mouse on November 17, 2014, 20:06:47 PM
As a retired builder yes it is a pile driver and yes we new awhile back that the lake was being filled in to build staff quarters for the new hotel.Danky I don't know when you were last out but there is three new build villas directly opposite your place just by the blue painted bridge apart from that there has not been much else in the way of changes.Oscars bar has been closed for awhile and I am led to beleave that due to little or no business hes leasing it out next year to Russians.

These are pictures I took yesterday. If your place is to the left of the pıledrıver Danky they are pumpıng out your Sıte . Wether ıt ıs because of the lake or the raın I do not know. I am takıng a letter of complaınt ınto the Beledıye today but I expect ıt wıll not be acted on. There ıs plenty of spare land around the area to buıld on wıthout usıng the lake.
Title: Re: New road,new bridge.
Post by: stoop on November 18, 2014, 10:10:11 AM
I agree - lots of areas to build on that aren't lakes! What is it with Turks filling lakes in and then building on them. Have they not seen the apartment block at the back of us?

Has to be down to land prices. Wet = cheap = drainage problems = flooding = who gives a Sh*t?

Title: Re: New road,new bridge.
Post by: stoop on November 18, 2014, 10:14:18 AM
Quackers - left of the pile driver is Saglik. We are constantly pumping out water on there. Even in May this year they had the pumps going 24/7. This can only make things worse for those on that side though.

Thank you Quackers not being there is a concern my villa is past the dustbin in your picture it one of the four yellow coloured ones behind where there are 4 new  bases down for new villas to go up
Mickey mouse i was out for the whole of the six weeks holiday  so i did see the new villa you was on about going up never really bothered us as it was fairly tidy and no body was working during the summer ,my concern is
1 coaches will not be coming this way they will go beach road so only us will see the mess left
2 with burglaries etc already in the area will this increase with staff accommodation to the hotel on our door step
3 I work in London get fed up with all the rush rush busy busy commuting so go there for the rural aspect  to escape it all
now all I can think of is there will be more cars more people more hastle
4 When my Turkish neighbours say time to sell up our property will decrease in value with the Hi De Hi team next door I have to stop and have a major rethink

Thank you Quackers for raising our concerns, please keep updating the photo,s  as its the only way i can put my mind at rest
as feeling very isolated at the minute not being out there

Danky

Read my post Danky ıt ıs the waterboard doıng the work no buıldıng of staff accomodatıon as far as I know. Wıll post agaın when I have been to F-TIP offıce on thursday. I know where your vılla ıs. My frıend lıves at the end of that road and ıs lıable to floodıng ın a normal wınter let alone wıth the lake beıng dredged.
Title: Re: New road,new bridge.
Post by: Rimms on November 18, 2014, 18:10:16 PM
I think dredging the lake could prevent flooding as the lake will hold a lot more water after the rain, I note they are also carrying out what looks like a big dredging and drainage works running alongside the Jiva beach resort. Could this also be linked?

Hope you get it sorted one way or the other as it looks a mess at the moment.

Thanks Quackers think you posted while i was typing today
i hope you are correct,

i had a long talk with Hamit at the pension today  told me it is houses for hotel staff  he works for the Belediye and had spoken to somebody on behalf of  his dad
he was not  concerned really thought it would be ok and better for the area in the long run

My Turkish neighbour on the other hand is  the opposite saying to  me its not good and i should be worried and he is normally very laid back

Hamit said they are   pole  driving the ground for stable foundations as we know houses  have sunk in that area before and this time they will do a professional job. all will be better by May next year for the start of the season.
Hence my heads spinning but ill take a chill pill and await on any news you might be able to kindly share with us after your visit

Danky

Ahh, is that what it is? Obviously my notion that with lake dredging and big drainage works by Jiva that someone had finally come up with a joined up infrastructure plan to relive flooding down that end was stretching the imagination a bit far !!

We continue to dream.

We have a property on Mavi Kent, and was told they where building staff accommodation on the lake, they were filling this in when we was out October, Is this is what is being built there. Will this stop the flooding or is it flooded all around the sites again. The road looks in an awful state, surely the new houses being built will oppose to this also.

Well we are all flooded again as of yesterday. Many of us have written to MUSKI asking for them to keep the drainage channels open but they are refusing to send in the digger. Barut have sent one but it was too late to stop the flooding in the area.

If anyone wants to write to MUSKI I have an email address for an English speaking employee.

Only in Turkey can they be doing all that work in this  area to improve flooding, they  spend tens of thousands Lira and houses still get flooded, its  criminal   feel for all the poor peoples houses and belongings getting ruined every year, im lucky that  my house is up high and only suffers from a small bit of damp,  >:(

I think it was mainly Cicek and Saglik that were hit. However since they have started to build a staff accomodation block in the middle of a lake (for the new Barut Hotel) it has definatley made the whole area worse.

The main thrust now is to get MUSKI to make sure the drainage channels are kept open and clear. When this is done the flooding doesn't happen as the water escapes into the sea.

It's not rocket science but I'm afraid a lack of funding might be the problem.

" i have had confirmation from Ceren Türk at MUSKi that Yusof ERYILMAZ, Chief of Fethiye Canalisation, will open the original river that used to drain the lake near Mavi Kent Sitesi to the sea, as i have been asking them to do, since the first of January. i understand from people who have lived here in Koca Çaliş longer than i have that this river did not block up as readily as the more recent one. i have also had confirmation from Ekrem Hepeyiler, Manager of Fethiye Barut Hotels, that they will resurface all the roads that they have used in this area when they finish construction of the staff accomodation in a few weeks time."
