Title: Lost residency book
Post by: young at heart on June 01, 2014, 12:56:40 PM
I have mislaid our residency books.  Look every where hubby thinks I may have thrown them away.  We go home on sat.  We were told to get a police report but on reading the forum it looks like we will be fined when we leave we would have been here 88 days.  Can anyone help pauline

Go to the Pasaport Polis office, preferably with a translator, and explain your situation.

I lost my book last year (there is a report somewhere on here about it) it somehow managed to find it's way into the washing machine ! (Chris?) I went back to the passport police and despite having spare copies of the pictures they held on file, they made me go through two thirds of the procedure again, and charged accordingly, It then took two weeks to supply the replacement blue book.

Although we have residency we stay 88 days here and them about same time in England.  When I went to passport police he said as we have two days left everything will be ok.  I have then found on several forums that people in same situation were fined at dalaman excessively ?  Don't know why they could not just give you a copy.  It on their computer?

Its just not how it works.

Its simply not how it works, and never has.  Although it varies from region to region, the replacement process is similar to the application process (as Rimms found out) and, depending on region, you'll be charged between nothing and 50% of the original application plus the cost of the blue book.

No different from a lost or stolen UK passport, where you pay the full fee & have to attend an interview

I have lost a passport and also had one stolen but never had to go to an interview, with the stolen one I had to go to police to report it.

According to HM Government's website, that's now a requirement

What about applying for an Evisa ? Would they be able to get away with it ? Any views ?

Against all odds have now found our residency books.  Now worried because we asked advise of passport police does that mean they have cancelled them

It's unlikely unless you filled out paperwork & told them to cancel them.  8)
