Hard to tell by these photos but can make out 3 windmills & other areas starting to take shape.

When do they hope to have it finished our first trip this year is first week in may , what's the chances by then

It is planned to be completed at the end of 2018.

Pompeylee, thank you for the new photos.
There will be a ceremony for the remembrance day of Fethi Bey on 27th february, in the new place of monument. Mayor Saatci said there may be an air display of Solo Turk (A part Turkish Air Forces) as well.

Good to see how quickly it is coming along.  It will make our walk from Calis into Fethiye even more pleasant.  Looking forward to trying it out

Mr fethiye bay is being opened /launched on Tuesday complete with a plane I believe,  I will try to post pics here.

Ceremony will be on 27th at 10:30. A model of Fethi Bey's plane is put next to the monument
